Dodgy reviews and conflict of interest
Changing names of reviewers
Some reviewers for Trendsetter Group Ltd changed their names after evidence was published online showing that the original reviewer names closely matched employees of Trendsetter Group. Nikesh (Nik) Gudka leads projects and marketing for Trendsetter Group Ltd, and is the director of the insolvent Atomic Build Ltd. He appeared to be leading work at Trendsetter Group months before filing for the insovency of Atomic Build, a company that now has a county court judgement against it for faulty work.
A Yell.com user named NikeshG-2 gave a 5-star review to Trendsetter Group, and also identified themselves as part of the Atomic Build Ltd team in a previous review (available as pdf). After being identified as providing a review for Trendsetter Group, the Yell user's name changed to RajeshK-55 and the former review for Atomic Build Ltd was removed, but the review for Trendsetter Group remained in place with identical wording and the same posting date (user profile available as pdf; Trendsetter profile available as pdf). Reviews on Trendsetter Group's Yell.com profile (as of October 2023) are currently disabled (Trendsetter on Yell.com).
Similarly, a Yell.com user named MohitS-11 gave a 5-star review to Trendsetter Group (available as screenshot) - this is the same name as a former Atomic Build employee. After being identified as an employee of Atomic Build Ltd, the Yell user's name changed to Samsmith, but the review for Trendsetter Group remained in place with identical wording and the same posting date (user profile available as pdf). MohitS-11 / Samsmith's renamed user profile currently remains active with the same review (user profile on Yell.com).
Hiding of negative reviews
In approximately October 2023, Trendsetter Group Ltd disabled reviews on their Yell.com profile (reviews on Trendsetter's Yell.com remain disabled as checked in April 2024). When reviews are disabled, all reviews are removed from the business' profile. Trendsetter Group had at least one negative review on their Yell.com profile, so this is currently hidden from public view. However, while reviews are hidden from the business' profile, they remain on the reviewer's Yell.com profile, as can be seen in this negative review for Trendsetter.
Reviews with a conflict of interest
A number of reviewers on Trendsetter Group's Google profile are from people with a conflict of interest towards the company (beyond NikeshG and MohitS as already mentioned above).
These reviews could be based on a genuine experience with Trendsetter, but the person providing the review has a conflict of interest (i.e. they are an employee/contractor/associate/friend of the company). For example:
Erkan Uyanik works for Trendsetter Group, and previously worked for the closely related and now insolvent Atomic Build Ltd. Erkan has provided 5 star reviews for Trendsetter (available as pdf) and for Atomic Build - see reviews on their former website (available as pdf). In June 2023, Erkan's review for Trendsetter Group changed from stating that it was Nikesh's team to stating it was Kiril's team that completed the work: see June 2023 pdf
Jhonny Silva worked/contracted for Atomic Build Ltd. Jhonny provided 5 star reviews for Trendsetter (available as pdf) and for Atomic Build - see reviews on their former website (available as pdf).
Viren Gudka and Nikesh Gudka share the same surname and address. Viren has provided a 5 star review for Trendsetter (available as pdf).
